Who we are
ScioWeb is a service by Sciometa, Helsinki, Finland. For anything related to your data, contact us at hello@sciometa.com.
What we process
- Email address — if you create a site, we ask for your email to verify it and to send you your site link. Legal basis: taking steps at your request prior to a contract.
- Restaurant business information— name, address, opening hours and public social-media links, collected from public sources. We use it to prepare private demo websites and to contact businesses about our service. Legal basis: legitimate interest (B2B outreach). Demo menus are illustrative samples, not statements about the restaurant's actual offering.
- Content you add to your site — texts and photos you upload belong to you; we host them to provide the service.
Cookies
We use a single strictly necessary cookie (sw_k) that keeps a private draft site accessible after you open its link. It is not used for tracking or advertising, and no analytics or third-party cookies are set. Because it is strictly necessary, no consent banner is required.
Retention
- Email verification codes: deleted after 10 minutes.
- Private demo sites: expire automatically after 14 days unless continued with you.
- Outreach records: kept while relevant; removed on request.
Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct or delete your data, or to stop contacting your business, at any time: hello@sciometa.com. If we made a demo site for your restaurant and you want it removed, tell us and it is gone the same day. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Finnish Data Protection Ombudsman (tietosuoja.fi).
Where data lives
Data is stored within the EU (Supabase, EU region; our own servers in Finland). Emails are delivered via Resend.
